Bone CRUSHING Wedge Barrels
VLOG Day 7 with Brad Jacobson Hurricane Marie was forecasted to bring big surf to Southern California and I knew I had to chase it. I chased the last Hurricane Marie to the Wedge in Newport Beach as well. This was not forecasted to bring the same huge surf which that one brought. I wasn’t sure this one had enough size for the wedge. The fog helped make my decision as to WHERE to shoot. Seemed like the entire Southern California coastline was under heavy fog…except the Wedge. When I arrived I could immediately tell that this was a different direction, sets weren’t pushing off the Jetty. The “tepee effect” was not working, but the swell was pulsing directly at Cylinders. It was super packed on that end, surfers all over that peak. It was producing super fast, crazy barrels.
