With the goal of decreasing childhood obesity, Beach Cities Health District launched its “Walking School Bus” (WSB) program on Oct. 9 in elementary schools throughout Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach. More than 700 elementary-aged children from 14 area schools are expected to participate in the walk-to-school initiative, which is launching for the third straight year on International Walk to School Day.
