The South Bay is know for it’s block long closeouts. Once or twice a year a swell comes along and produces legitimate waves. This day saw one of those swells. Surfers include: Conor Beatty, Bryce Lowe-White, Matt Hinson, Chris Wells, Chris Frohoff, Andy Prunauer, Easton Jones, Kyle Brown and others. We hope this is a sign of a great El Nino winter!

The sun was out, the water was warm (for the Pacific in April), and there was a little swell in the water. As is normal to the South Bay, most of the waves were closing out but it was still fun. I caught up with Chris Wells, Steve Howe and Tracy Parkes as they took turns pulling into closeouts. The negative side was having one of my swim fins blown off by a set wave. Looks like it’s time to go shopping for a new pair.
December kicked off with some much needed rain and waves in the South Bay. These photos are from December 2nd, 2014. While most spots were stormy and walled, this spot held its shape and produced some gems.
March 18th brought a nice suprise of barrels to the South Bay. Not many offered exits but it was still a fun morning. Surfers featured include: Jalian Johnston, Chris Del Moro, Chris Wells, Josh Gilberts, Marc Jimenez and others.
