Black Lives Matter, an Interview to Help Us Understand the Protest

Black Lives Matter, some of us are trying to understand what exactly that means. There has been a lot of talk recently about a gentleman, Cedric Jones, who spoke at a Black Lives Matter protest in Manhattan Beach. Words like “dynamic, inspiring, love, motivational and educational” were used to describe his speech. I knew I had to meet him. I wanted to better understand the Black Lives Matter movement with an open mind. The time that I got to spend with Cedric was incredible. Just because I don’t understand how people can be racist doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist and that it’s not something that people have to live with daily. I hope you watch the full interview with an open mind, listen to the words that he says and take them to heart. There is absolutely no reason that one person should be looked at differently simply because of the color of their skin. I’m sure you’ve hear it 100 times but I’m going to say it again. We can change the world. It’s not difficult to treat everyone with respect. Yes, I understand there are horrible people in this world but they are not that way because of the color of their skin. This will not be the last time Cedric and I sit down for a talk, a laugh or story telling. I am looking forward to spending more time with my new friend.
