Civic Couch went behind the scenes with the Goodyear Blimp

The Goodyear Blimp “Spirit of Innovation” recently celebrated it’s 10 year milestone of it’s christening at it’s Carson home. Chances are you’ve seen the Goodyear blimp flying over the South Bay. We wanted to get more information about the Goodyear and their airships. Spirit of Innovation will remain in California through late 2017, when it will be retired and replaced by Wingfoot Two.
Senior pilot William Bayliss with the Goodyear Airship Operations explains the “Spirit of Innovation”.

The Point in El Segundo is about creating experiences. In the age of Amazon, shoppers don’t need to leave their homes. Therefore, when they do, the experience needs to be about more than a purchase. But The Point, which is less than a quarter the size of The Grove, is also about creating a place very much both connected to and representative of the community it seeks to attract.

The Los Angeles Times reported “A stubborn fire raged for more than two hours on the storm-battered Redondo Beach Pier Friday afternoon, destroying more than a dozen restaurants and shops and severely charring the pier’s pilings and decking. Damage was estimated at about $4.8 million.”

Recently Natalie from the Travel Muse visited Manhattan Beach and fell in love with it.

In her episode “The happiest Beach in LA: Manhattan Beach” she shows why and trip to LA must include a beach day in Manhattan Beach.  Her visit is mostly shot in downtown Manhattan Beach and the pier area but also includes the strand.

Civic Couch is always looking for fun videos covering the South Bay.  Please send us any videos that you would like to see us share to
