Round 1 of the 2011 US Open of Surfing showcased some of the worlds best surfers including Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Taj Burrow, Conner Coffin, Patrick and Tanner Gudauskas, Dane Reynolds, John John Florence and others.
On the Friday before the US Open of Surfing begins, Carissa Moore, Courtney Conlogue, Shane Beschen, Dane Zaun, Nat Young and others got in a warm up session on the south side of the Huntington Beach pier.

The South Bay Boardriders Club packed Sangria Hermosa on Sunday evening to celebrate their first successful 5 event surf series. Awards and prizes were handed out as local surfers and fans of the series cheered them on.
